Thunder Bay Community Health Service Host Open House at the Atlanta Clinic Site

On August 29, 2019, Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. held an open house at their Atlanta Health Center to showcase our 3,400 sq. ft. dental expansion and renovation of our pharmacy and medical space. In 2016, TBCHS was the proud recipient of a $1,000,000 Health Infrastructure Investment Program federal grant from the Health Resource Services Administration to make facility enhancements to increase patient capacity. The facility expansion includes the addition of six medical exam rooms, expanded pharmacy, and a state of the art dental facility which accommodates twelve dental operatories. The dental expansion has allowed Thunder Bay to provide additional services like mini dental implants for denture retention, increased pediatric care, expanded hours of service, while adding three new dentist to their team.

In addition, Thunder Bay Community Health Service has partnered with MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena to bring digital x-ray and screening mammography services to their Atlanta site. Patients can now schedule a screening mammogram five days a week.

TBCHS has primary care clinics in Hillman, Atlanta, Onaway, and Rogers City, two full service school-based health centers in the Cheboygan and Onaway Area Schools, along with18 additional schools in the surrounding communities.
