TBCHS is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician for our Atlanta location. The pharmacy technician will assist the pharmacist in the clinical and retail pharmacy setting performing the following basic technician duties such as:
- Assists pharmacists to prepare medication for dispensing
- Fills vial drawers daily
- Fills vials with prescribed tablets and capsules
- Types labels for prescription packaging
- Enters and processes new/refill prescription information into pharmacy computer system with assistance.
- Has pharmacist check work when completed.
- Prints patient education monograph (PEM) and med guides
- Receives and stores incoming medication and supplies
- Controlled substances will be verified by the pharmacist
- Confirms receipt of all items with invoices
- Adds price stickers to all items received.
- Shelves items; rotating older stock
- Removes outdated product from shelves per Pharmacy Protocol
- Counts stock and enters data into computer to maintain inventory records
- Performs sorting and filing of prescription records
- Answers telephone, refers calls to pharmacist or Level 2 and 3 technicians when appropriate
- Assists patients by scanning prescriptions to capture electronic signature upon pickup and collects copays as applicable
- Maintains patient prescription authorization files
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Pharmacy Technician Certification or Limited Pharmacy Technician License, Pharmacy Technician License.
